Spectrum Collection Brushes Review
First of all please can we take a minute to appreciate the Spectrum Collection brushes, they are soo pretty and soo soft I can’t even cope.
When I first received these in the post I was so excited to open the packaging and start using them, I have come across these brushes quite alot on social media but never got round to actually buying them so when I found out they wanted to calibrate with bloggers through the bloggers hangout I was straight on it!
The brushes themselves are quite heavy compared to some other brushes I own particularly the C04 and the A05, I was surprised with how heavy they felt but it shows they are good quality.
The only thing I’m slightly disappointed about the Spectrum Collection brushes is how soft the brush hairs are. As they are so soft when using a highlighter, powder or powered eyeshadow, I don’t think alot of product i picked up on the brush so it takes you a while to apply make up that you want quite pigmented look for example eyeshadow.
C04- KILLER CHEEK BONES This brush is angled so well for contouring your cheekbones. I personally love how big this brush is because it’s really easy to contour but like I mentioned earlier, not much product is picked up by the brush because it’s so soft. You can pick this up for £8.99.
A03- SO OVAL YOU This brush is really good for liquid foundations and concealers. It allows you to blend your foundation into your skin really well without leaving streaks which you can sometimes get with some foundation brushes. I like to use this for concealer too because the tip of the brush is really good for getting under your eyes. You can pick this brush up for £7.99
B03- UNDER COVER I have wanted/needed a brush like this for ages, I only have a big buffing brush which is good for foundation, but this brush is really good for blending in your concealer, I use this under my eyes and I feel like it gives your concealer a nice finish. You can pick this up for £4.99
A04-STRONG FINISH I use this brush for highlighter and compared to some of my other brushes that I use for highlighter i’m not overly impressed, it doesn’t pick up much product so you have to apply the highlighter about 3 times to even see it in the light. You can pick this brush up for £8.99
A05-BLUSH CRUSH This brush again doesn’t pick up much product, but for a blusher brush I don’t mind this because I don’t really like over the top cheek colour so this works so well to give you a slight colour, but if you wanted to build on top this brush will allow you to that. You can pick this brush up for £6.99
B06-BLENDING FRIEND I personally don’t like using this for blending, I don’t feel like it blends as well as other make up blending brushes that I own. You can pick this up for £4.99.
A17- BROW LOVE For my eyebrows I use the benefit brow archery so i don’t need to use a brush, however I was given a HI-BROW set, so I tested this brush out with these eyebrow shades. The shape of the brush makes it idea for your eyebrows as you can easily get the arch as well as the thin hair at the start of your eyebrows. This brush is one of the brushes that actually picks up alot of product which makes doing your eyebrows alot easier. You can pick this up for £4.99
A15- GET YOUR POUT OUT I use this quite alot to be honest and I’m a huge fan of it. Like the majority of lip pencils, this is a thinner and smaller size brush making it easy to apply lipsticks ect. You can pick up this brush for £3.99.
